About SRABC

The Southern Regional Asset Building Coalition (SRABC) is a partnership of four state-level asset-building coalitions that represents the states of Alabama, Florida, Lousiana, and Mississippi. The member coalitions of the SRABC are the Alabama Asset Building Coalition, the Raise Florida Network, Louisiana Building Economic Security Together (LABEST) and the Center for Asset Development.

A Message From Our Leaders

Assets are critical to the livelihood and stability of families, greatly affecting the outcomes of children’s education, entrepreneurship, employment and wages, and use of government welfare programs.

Poverty has traditionally been defined by the minimum amount of annual income needed to meet basic needs.

But this definition minimizes the key role that basic assets (such as home ownership, business equity, or retirement savings) play in determining the financial stability of families.
