Chairman of the Board
Michael Milner began his professional career in 1974 with the small loan division of General Finance Corporation in Atlanta, where he worked as a Branch Manager. In 1978 he joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Supervision and Regulation Department as a bank examiner specializing in consumer compliance regulations. In 1990, he joined SouthTrust Corporation in Birmingham, Alabama as the Director of Community Reinvestment. He was responsible for developing the corporation's community reinvestment strategy, handling CRA protests, and overseeing a corporate branch discrimination testing program. In 1999, he returned to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta as their Community Development Regional Manager, responsible for coordinating the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's community development strategy for the state of Alabama and middle Mississippi. In 2010, Michael retired from the FED and became the Executive Director of the Alabama Asset Building Coalition(AABC), an organization that he helped start and served as Chairman of the Board for the first 5 years of the organization's existence.
Michael is currently the Chairman of the Board for the “South Regional Asset Building Coalition; a nonprofit collaboration of asset building coalitions in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida. In addition, he is president of “Old Trail Properties, LLC,” a company specializing in affordable multi-family rental housing. More recently, he established “Southern Asset Building and CRA Consultants LLC,” a company specializing in providing technical assistance to banks and community organizations on the understanding of the Community Reinvestment Act.
He has a bachelor's degree from Morehouse College in business administration and a HDF Professional designation by the National Development Council.
